The other night I was looking online to find a good men’s
magazine. I don’t care about scantily clad women, great weekend trips to Bora
Bora, or $3,000 Armani suits. I just wanted a magazine that celebrates masculinity
and had interesting topics for guys like me. You know, guys who love God, their
wives, and family and have a wide range of interest. Articles on cars, sports,
and old school ideas of manliness. Project ideas ranging from how to build a
wooden canoe or a simple bird house. Interesting historical articles would be
cool too. But alas, none were to be found! Sad, right!
As I ranted on Facebook about this, it was posed by several
that I start my own magazine. While that would be interesting, my time just
doesn’t allow. So, here I am. I can sure blog about it! I am unclear on the
frequency of when I will post. It could be every 2 days, every week, or
whenever the notion hits me.
Even though the name, MANologue, may seem one sided, I don’t
want this blog to be as such. Please let me know of any ideas or topics you would
like to discuss. Let me tell you upfront, this is a blog with a definite
Christian leaning format. I will not apologies for being a Christian, nor will
I apologize for being a man who embraces masculinity. Don’t ask not going to
happen. I will post topics on all sorts of subjects regarding manhood and what
it means to be a true gentleman. No hate, no judgement, just some positive topics
in hopes of making myself (and others) a better man.
I will warn you up front, I am not a writer. Despite the
fact I have published a book, I still struggle with grammar. Don’t be that guy
who is the grammar police. If you are, I truly am happy for you, but I don’t
see me getting any better.
I hope you will join me in a quest to be better men and celebrate
our unapologetic masculinity. Please check out the Rules of Engagement to
see the guidelines for comments and post topics.

Parting thought: Dan Skognes posted his definition of real
men on his website. I thought it very accurate. Check out his site sometime as
well. https://danskognes.com/
